argadargada is
a found name
. Its poetic and lyrical natures are distinctive features and when
spoken in a certian tonal manner it echoes the cries of an Australain
bush crow. This name has been adopted as the title for this
artists book as it reflects a familiarity with place. The imagery
in the book is built up from collected references to the land.
Layed into the sheets of hand made paper are six layers of map
marks applied with pulp printing, drawings applied with silk screen
and found place names applied with rubber stamp. The places in
the book can be viewed page by page as you would see in a journey,
or in a long panaroma if the book is pulled out to its ful lenght
The marks used in this book were all chosen for the aesthetic qualities
they hold, both poetic and visual.
